Veteran pilot and broadcast journalist Mort Crim combines witty humor and the drama of flight in a message about dynamic living. Drawing on insights gleaned from his career both in and on the air, Crim offers solid reasons for optimism and hope – using wit and humor to remind his audience about what’s truly important. During his 35-year broadcasting career, Crim covered major news events – such as the Apollo moon landing and the collapse of the Soviet Union – for media outlets such as ABC Radio.

As a licensed commercial pilot, he’s captained numerous flights and earned the Federal Aviation Administration’s Wright Brothers’ Master Pilot Award. Crim holds a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and was an original inductee into Medill’s Hall of Achievement. His many books include Second Thoughts: One Hundred Upbeat Messages for Beat-Up Americans, One Moment Please, Like It Is and Good News for Tough Times, among others.

Economist, scholar and financial advisor Dr. Henry Fishkind offers an expert opinion on factors shaping the fiscal climate in his presentation. With more than 30 years of experience in economic analysis and forecasting, Dr. Fishkind is widely regarded as one of Florida’s premier economists and financial advisors.

Dr. Fishkind’s career began in the public sector as an economist and associate professor at the University of Florida, and he later served on the governor’s economic advisory board. In 1980, he became the associate director for programs at the University of Florida’s Bureau of Economic and Business Research. Dr. Fishkind launched his consulting career as president of M.G. Lewis.
